Become Somebody – Abused Girl Shares Her Pain & Hopes
“My parents couldn’t do it, but i know that i can.” – Krause Resident.
On Saturday March 27th, the Krause Children Center, a residential treatment center for abused and neglected children in Katy, TX, held their annual silent auction gala dinner to raise money to provide their kids with summer schools and camps.
The lives of hundreds of girls age 12 to 17 who were removed from their homes or foster placements due to histories of severe abuse and neglect, are changed in remarkable ways. Krause’s mission is to help these girls heal from the past and create a hopeful future. To help them communicate their message effectively, The Memory Mill Productions stood by their motto “We Make Things Happen” once again and produced this thought provoking video that highlights Krause’s goals, mission and programs. Watch as one of the girls, “Emily”, tells us about her life struggles and experiences at Krause and how they helped her live her life to the fullest.
By the words of Robert Schuller “Let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future”, we are proud to have joined Krause in their mission to help abused children re-learn hope and experience unconditional love. A big thank you to the Krause staff for this wonderful opportunity, and to the Krause residents. You are a testimony of courage, you make us realize that the most basic things in life are not to be taken for granted.
